At Aquafin minimum age of admission is 3 months. However, we advise the parents to add your child on our wait list in advance so you can get the placement in time.
Think about swimming lessons as a long-term process, rather than an event. To ensure continuous skill development, lessons need to be a regular part of your child’s weekly routine. As children learn, they progress at their own pace and master the skills appropriate for their age. Aquafin recommends two lessons a week is a good start.
Swimming is a year-round activity. At Aquafin we believe, the best way to become a strong, confident swimmer is to consistently practice and develop your skill.
Our lessons are run year-round, with the exception of a break over Christmas and the New Year period. Year round lessons are the key to consistency as swimming is a skill that requires regular practice.
All of our instructors are required to attain a nationally recognised teaching qualification. Either Austswim or Swim Teachers Australia qualification. In addition, they need to attain Working with Children and First Aid certification along with our own intensive Swim teacher training.
Evidence suggests that children who participate in regular swimming lessons at an early age are better prepared for learning in other spheres. Our Swimming Babies and Pre-school programs emphasise safety and survival skills such as breath control and submersion, turn around swims back to the wall and back floating.
Aquafin Swim School, pool is heated to 32 degrees for the optimal learning environment for kids of all ages.
Children should have a swim cap, bathers, a towel, goggles, dry clothes to change back into and a water bottle. Swim nappies are required for children age three months to three years.
For our Swimming Babies Program, there is an average of 5-6 children per class. Our Pre-school and School Age Programs have an average of 3-4 children per lesson.
Lessons in our Swimming Babies Program are parent and child lessons. One parent will be required to assist their child in the pool. We believe this helps them become accustomed to the water and be confident while in care of their parent. We suggest that parents wear tops that their children can hold easily when they come for the lessons.
You are free to change classes at any time, as long as we have an available space/time that suits your preference , you don’t have to wait for re enrollments.
Aquafin Swim School offers the flexibility of monthly direct debit or upfront term payment options.
